Blue Cedar Homes’ two latest developments for the “active retired” in Sidmouth have been officially opened by television celebrity Jennie Bond.
The journalist and presenter, who lives in Devon, unveiled a new entrance sign at Mill Gardens and later performed a ribbon cutting ceremony with new homeowners at Salcombe Gardens.
Salcombe Gardens near Waitrose has views over Salcombe Hill and features seven detached houses and four bungalows while Mill Gardens, in the heart of the town, features 12 homes. Both developments are built for homebuyers aged over 55 and set within communal landscaped gardens which are looked-after by a visiting estate manager.
Jennie, the BBC’s former Royal Correspondent, was driven to both developments in a vintage jaguar owned by Mike Lavers from the Sidmouth sales agent Harrison, Lavers and Potbury’s.
Exeter-based Blue Cedar Homes was founded in 2008, offering a new-style of retirement living, in luxury, modern, freehold homes built especially for over-55s, often wishing to downsize from larger family homes without compromising on quality of life.
Blue Cedar Homes developments are designed for a low-maintenance, stress free lifestyle. Built within walking distance of a town or village centre, the Blue Cedar Homes neighbourhood achieves a close-knit community where a visiting Estate Manager takes care of the communal gardens and private rear gardens, putting out rubbish and recycling and managing a programme of exterior property maintenance.
