Home insurance "will give peace of mind"

Knowing they have home insurance will give peace of mind to those
people who are unfortunate enough to have to make a claim, one
industry expert has asserted.
Andrew Lowe, head of Direct Line Home Insurance, which launched in
the UK in April 1985, said that despite reduced claims, people
should not cut back on home insurance cover as it is an essential
purchase.
His comments follow the publication of new research by Sainsbury's
Home Insurance, which reveals that 373,000 claims were made in the
first six months of the year, compared to 527,000 in the first half
of 2008.
"Direct Line has seen a fall in the number of home insurance claims
in the past year, which is mainly due to fewer claims for
storm-related damage being made," stated Mr Lowe.
The news comes after the Association of British Insurers recently
reported that 22 per cent of people had either cancelled or not
renewed their home insurance in the last year.
