Landlords encouraged to invest in buy-to-let market

Landlords have been encouraged to put their money into the
buy-to-let market after one expert suggested that now is a good
time to buy.
According to the director or LandlordZONE.co.uk Tom Entwistle, the
combination of high rental demand and a rise in rents makes this a
good time to enter the market.
He added that the fact financing for first-time buyers still
remains difficult means that more people are renting properties
from landlords.
His comments came after the Council of Mortgage Lenders revealed
that the number of properties taken into possession had fallen
during the last three months of 2010.
It found that repossessions dropped from 9,800 in the first quarter
to 9,400.
This indicates that the property market has begun to show signs of
recovery.
Mr Entwistle said it is likely that arrears will stay at the
current level.
He added that "residential property still remains a relatively safe
place to put capital".
