Rural life in the shadow of the city

Living directly next to a city the size of Birmingham, many people
may expect to be inundated with noise pollution and a regular flow
of commuters, flustered and bothered, passing by their window every
few minutes.
However, surprisingly, one village in the west midlands has the
ability to offer someone the chance to live immediately next to one
of the country's biggest cities, while also enjoying the calming
tones and atmosphere of living in the small village
lifestyle.
This little village is called Barnt Green, in the West Midlands.
The village is located directly to the south of Birmingham,
England's biggest city, and comprises of less than 2,000 residents.
This means that people can enjoy the quiet lifestyle of living in a
tiny village, even this close to a city.
One of the obvious benefits to being located so close to a big
city, is that those who want to commute there for work can do so
easily, and without having to travel even remotely large distances
to get there. Even London is only 100 miles away, making it easily
accessible via trains.
However, even though it exists in the shadow of Birmingham, it
still retains the feel all of a small village. Barnt Green is
obscured from the sight of Birmingham by an array of green hills,
which really helps it retain its rural feel, promoting the beauty
and peace of living in one of England's small villages.
While the lifestyle is one aspect which will without doubt be a
draw for those looking for
property for sale in Barnt Green, they may also be attracted by
the style of architecture. Most of the houses in the village were
built in the first half of the 20th century, mainly the 40s and the
50s, meaning that it really retains the feel of a real local
village.
