We offer an extensive range of property services in Sidmouth and the surrounding area. We are also Sidmouth’s longest established Estate Agent - Potbury's Estate Agents was established in the late 1890’s and Harrison-Lavers in 1978. The two firms merged in 1985. Over the years we have built a reputation for providing a high level of professionalism and expertise, together with traditional values. We offer a wide range of property services including both residential and commercial sales and lettings. We have extensive experience in residential property management, as well as valuations that are carried out for all manner of purposes. Today, Harrison-Lavers & Potbury's continue to provide a high standard of service to clients and are independent of any financial institution, bank or building society.
Although we are known for our traditional values, do not make the mistake that we are old- fashioned. We have embraced modern technology and use it to provide our clients with the best possible service. We occupy prominent and well-appointed offices in the town centre, with the Estate Agency and Letting Department on the ground floor of our building, together with our Professional and Management Departments on the two upper floors.
Our Estate Agency Department enjoys a high profile and is run by Managing Director, Jay Thorne Cert REA FNAEA and Sales Director, Tony Sutherland MNAEA. Jay moved to Sidmouth in 1982 and joined the firm in 1989. Tony has spent over 25 years in agency in East Devon. The majority of our staff were born and raised in the area and have worked for Harrison-Lavers & Potbury's for many years. They are a well trained, enthusiastic, professional and friendly team who are dedicated to achieving the best possible price for your property within a realistic timescale.
Our residential lettings Department is run by Director, Bobby Marshall. Bobby was born and educated in Sidmouth and has been with the firm since leaving Sidmouth College. This department is very active and has expanded considerably under his careful guidance. It offers a full range of letting and management services, not only in Sidmouth, but throughout the East Devon area.
Our Block Management Department is run by Director, Spencer Jarrett and focuses specifically on the management of blocks of flats and there are now approximately 1000 units under management in Sidmouth, Exeter, East Devon, West Dorset and Somerset.
Our Professional Department is run by Malcolm Williams. He has a wealth of experience in Sidmouth and East Devon, having worked in the area for over forty years. This department deals with both residential and commercial property and is able to provide professional valuations for probate and other tax purposes, together with rent reviews and general advice. This department covers not only the Sidmouth area but the whole of East Devon and beyond. In addition Malcolm is the retained agent for Clinton Devon Estates, one of the largest landed estates within the South West of England. He acts for a significant number of other major clients throughout the area.
